Bendigo has been a hub of activities with lots happening, including the esteemed Australian actor David Wenham AM visiting to promote his latest film 'Spit'. Not that it ever dies down, but Bendio is coming to life with a Fiesta in celebration of
Frida Kahlo: In her own image , an exclusive exhibition that is coming to Bendigo Art Gallery, 42 View St, Bendigo, from
March 15 to 13 July 2025 from 10am to 5pm, and during that time period, you'll find Mexican and Frida inspired experiences and events throughout Bendigo and its surrounds. Think colourful activations, Mexican flavours and more. Do
check out this amazing and exclusive exhibition as it features Kahlo’s personal belongings, clothing, make-up, accessories, and medical items, on loan from the Museo Frida Kahlo in Mexico for the first time in Australia. Sealed in a bathroom for 50 years after Kahlo’s death, in her cherished family home, La Casa Azul, this precious collection’s rediscovery sheds new light on Kahlo’s carefully crafted appearance.

The Taco Trail for over 20 specialty tacos and vote for your favourite. This limited-time pop-up experience across the Bendigo region will spice up your tastebuds in search of the best taco in town. From sizzling meats to zesty vegan delights, local eateries are serving up their most creative and mouthwatering tacos for you to taste and vote on.

program , you can see the Fiesta has already left the gate, before its official opening date. You can already taste and experience the Fiesta with
Cantina Bendigo serving up real Mexican made fresh, the
Fiesta Tram Cafe , the
Fiesta Lunch Menu at The Woodhouse and a whole lot more. There's an Illuminate Exhibition, a Carnivale by Dale Harris, Mexican Mosaics with Julie Shaw, Dahlia and Arts Fiesta, and dare I say more, including a Frida Kahlo-inspired makeup lesson and a floral headpiece workshop. Just check out the

With such a lengthy Fiesta experience timeframe, you're going to encounter lots of exciting experiences to participate in, including the Mexican Fiesta Street Party on
Saturday 3 May 2025. It's going to be a huge community event that celebrates music, food, culture, fashion, and dance of Mexico. There are performances on stage, including a 7-piece Mariachi band amongst others, and lots of free activities for the kids - pinatas, facepainting, craft workshops, etc. Grab a bite at one of the food stalls and check out the market stalls at this alcohol and smoke free event for a piece of Mexico to take home with you.
