Event:
If the rumours are true, and the world is going to end in 2012, then why not get your last year on earth started with something worth the position (and totally awesome).

Field Day is a multi-stage outdoor concert that goes from 12pm - 11pm on New Years Day, held at Sydney's incredible Domain park in the heart of the city.

With ten years of success under its belt, Field Day 2012 will once again invite people from all over Sydney and beyond to come together to celebrate and enjoy the first day of the new year to the sounds of some of the hottest music acts around. Field Day is the perfect blend of classic Aussie backyard party-in-the-park, chilling out with friends and having a beer mixed with the mounting excitement of each musical performance leading up to the spectacular final set held on the main stage.

Some of the headlining acts this year include world famous New York DJ Moby, whose albums have influenced an entire genre of electronic and rave music. He has also sold over 20 million albums and continues to write and tour today.

Justice, the Parisian music duo whose début studio album '†' was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album, won the Best French Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Their cut-and-paste electronic vibe mixed with a surprising rock influence will have you switching between your robot moves and the old school head bang.

Also appearing will be Belgian born Gotye, whose 2011 single 'Somebody That I Used to Know', featuring Kimbra came in at number one in four countries, is currently nominated for seven Aria awards, and on its first week of release, his latest album Making Mirrors came in at number one on the ARIA Australian album chart.

Some of the other sensational artists performing will be the Canadian electronica band, Crystal Castles who started with an album that was included in NME's "Top 100 Greatest Albums of the Decade", Australian Aria award winning group Cloud Control, Canberra house music kings The Aston Shuffle and many more.

Not only will you be able to appreciate the never-ending opportunities to shake your tail feather with your buddies, you can also kick back with a drink from one of the fully licensed bars, or grab a snack from the one of the food stalls.

Nothing could possibly top Field Day 2012 for en epic start to the year, great music from an unbelievable line up of homegrown and international artists, and all of this in the beautiful Sydney city.

Tickets are selling fast so head to the website for more details.

Remember, if the ancient Apocalyptic predictions are true, this year could be your last chance!
