Looking for a Gift thatís a little different?
We've all had that moment in our lives when we have to go to a birthday, housewarming or other gathering that requires us to bring a gift and we have no idea what to buy. While lotto tickets are ok for some, there are times when you want to put a little more thought into your gift, give something that stands out from the rest.

Well let me introduce you to Fickle Prickles: Cacti, Succulents and Other Living Gifts. As the name suggests these aren't your ordinary every day gifts, these are gifts that will last much longer than chocolates or wine and many of them don't require much maintenance.

Now what's the difference between a cacti and a succulent I hear you say? Well as described on the Fickle Prickles website a cactus is in fact a type of succulent, and just because a succulent has spines, doesn't mean it is a cactus. What defines true cacti are areoles. Areoles are what spines, branches and flowers may sprout from, and all cacti (and only cacti) have them. These areoles are not hard to find. They look like small, fluffy, cotton like lumps and the body of the cactus.

Some of Fickle Prickles living gifts come in small terracotta or ceramic pots which make them great for your desk at work, a shelf on your wall, or that corner you are having trouble filling. In fact Cacti would make a great addition to anyone's table top, veranda or garden. They even sell kits so you can pot your own living gift. And if you need some supplies to keep your gift in tip top shape, Fickle Prickles sells them too. If you like the look of a Fickle Prickles item as a gift, but you aren't too sure which one to pick, they do gift vouchers which are emailed to you the same day.

Fickle Prickles can be found at the Kalamunda Markets, stall number 146, on the first Saturday of every month, or you can visit their website for door to door delivery. Please note that due to quarantine restrictions Fickle Prickle cannot post items outside of WA.
