On a cold afternoon north of Adelaide CBD, I caught up with new and up and coming music group FFashionablyLate. I had viewed their recently released original track on YouTube, and was definitely interested in the discussion, but what I thought was going to be a quick chat turned into an afternoon of delight, which went down so many rabbit holes I came away with a true sense of a lifetime of drive and passion for music and creativity from each and every member. Let me introduce you to FFashionablyLate.

Shân – Lead Vocalist, Public Relations

Beautiful, soulful and harking from Wales, Shân grew up surrounded by music. With a well-known Welsh singer and composer grandfather, she was born into creativity and initially expressed this through poetry before joining a 1980's style female choir. Finally settling in Australia after living in six countries, Shân lost her voice some years ago and through the cathartic nature of singing once again found her voice and herself. Today, Shân is outstanding as the lead vocalist of FFashionablyLate.

Steve – Bass Guitar, Manager, Coordinator and Founder

The very quiet Steve came to Australia from his homeland of Wales at 8 years of age. With an interest in rock and roll he spent his younger years playing in bands before life pulled him further and further away. Four years ago, Steve found his way back to music and twelve months ago, realising that music was his home, he sought out like minded people who enjoy playing music.

Herb – Drums, Producer

Growing up in Germany, Herb was the kid on the block who was always drumming, with or without sticks and drums. Being strongly driven to drumming, he would play the drums with cardboard boxes and a light shade or whatever he could find. Herb played in many bands both here and in Germany, before putting the drum kit away to focus on life and family. Herb continued to express his creativity through gardening and renovating and played now and then at home. With a love for jazz and samba, drumming is Herb's happy place.

Peter – Guitar, Blues Harp, Keyboard, Vocals, Musical Director and Song Writer

Irish without the brogue, music has flowed through Peter's veins since birth. Learning piano in his younger years, he first picked up a guitar at 18 years of age and hasn't looked back since. Peter played in coffee shops and other venues before starting to write his own songs. In his 20's his manager introduced him to a four piece band where he provided backing vocals and played keyboard and guitar. Life was filled with family and work for many years before an opportunity to once again fill his life with music presented.

FFashionablyLate formed approximately twelve months ago when Steve put out a call in a social group for like minded people to get together to play some music. What came together was a wonderful eclectic group of people from all over the world and walks of life. Talking with them, the connection in the room was palpable; it was very clear that they are family and the release of their original single My Life, written by Peter and sung by Shân, is a perfect example of their cool, classy and retro style.

FFashionablyLate are new to the Adelaide music scene and are definitely to be watched. They are happy to play a selection of covers but are quietly growing a strong selection of original works with clear authenticity to their work; they are just a delight.
