A Feast for the Senses
Located in Grafton Street Cairns, Fetta's Greek Taverna is truly a feast for the senses. From the moment you enter the white walls and blue give the place a distinctly Greek feel. Adding to the atmosphere is a belly dancer, who is accompanied by a staff member smashing plates. The wait staff excel in creating an instantly welcoming environment. I was very impressed with our waitress who was friendly, answered all our questions about the food, and readily agreed to take a picture of our group when asked. Most importantly, the food was delicious.
Our table elected to have Zorba's feast, the restaurant's set menu. Each dish was individually delicious, while complementing the selection of other dishes. For me the entree stand out was the perfectly seasoned calamari, however I also very much enjoyed the crusty bread accompanied by a selection of dips. Among the main course, it's difficult to choose a favourite as we were provided with a wide selection of meat, seafood and salad. However, I did particularly enjoy the lamb. The meal ended perfectly with a selection of Baclava and Galakobouriko accompanied by a Greek coffee. After telling our waitress how much we had enjoyed the sweet treats she offered to bring us more, but by this time we were well and truly full.
Fetta's Greek Taverna successfully provides a unique and satisfying dining experience. The mix of entertainment, atmosphere, and sumptuous food combine to make an unforgettable evening out.
