The Maroondah City Council has more events than you can poke a stick at throughout the year. Either subscribe or stay in touch via social media to stay updated and to be the first to know What's On . With the festive season on the way, here are a few highlighted events that are bound to put you in the mood to start thinking about Christmas 2024. Click on the given links for details and to book ticketed events and free events that require you to book for numbers.

Sat 23 Nov 1-4pm - Christmas Twinkle Baubles at North Ringwood Community House, 35-39 Tortice Dve - $40 pp, includes all materials. Learn to fold and create your own decoration in this magical workshop, and make twinkle baubles (see last image) from a choice of over 50 papers.

Wed 27 Nov 5-7pm - Urban Nanna's Festive Crafty Workshop at Wyreena Arts Centre, Catamore Hall, 13-23 Hll Rd, Croydon - Must book for this free event. Decorate your home during the festive season without adding to the global waste crisis. Learn to transform what you have at home into gorgeous hanging ornaments. Some homemade festive snacks will be supplied during the presentation, and you will take home what you make as well as instructions to continue crafting at home.

Sat 30 Nov 10am-12pm - Reusable Gift Wrap Workshop at North Ringwood Community House (room 1). Bookings are essential fore this free event. Turn everyday items into stamps for block printing, and create a unique gift wrap.

Sat 30 Nov 10am-12.30pm - Vintage Paper Christmas Decorations at Wyreena Community Arts Centre -Ticketed event at $60. Use a range of vintage papers and upcycled wrapping paper to create a variety of Christmas decorations.

Sat 7 Dec 9.30am-4pm - Lino Printing with a Christmas theme at Wyreena Community Arts Centre - Ticketed event at $145. Hand carve your own Christmas design in the lino surface and work towards printing your own small edition on paper and experiment with printing small Christmas cards and gift tags.

Sat 7 Dec 6-10pm - Maroondah Carols 2024 at Town Park, 20 Civic Square, Croydon - Free event filled with pre-show entertainment, a great lineup of wonderful performances, the Maroondah Carols Band, food vendors, kids zone, and spectacular fireworks. Enjoy a visit from Elf, Frosty the Snowman, and Santa.

Sat 14 Dec 1-4pm - Christmas Cupcakes at North Ringwood Community House - Ticketed at $60, learn how to swirl, pipe and accessories pre-baked cupcakes just in time for Christmas celebrations.
