The Sydney Festival is in full swing, and the Festival Village is back, and full of life and fun, even for those without tickets.

Festival Village Sydney

Festival Village Sydney

Grab the kids and head down with the kids for lunch or dinner, and mix with the fun crowd. If you change your mind, there is a box office and you can try to grab a ticket to one of the fabulous shows in the world famous Spiegeltent.

Festival Village Sydney Messina Porteno

Food offerings are tasty treats by Bar Pho, Harvest Trader & Co, Bite Size Delights, Bar Coco Milk Bar, Jafe Jaffles, and Porteno and Gelato Messina together make up The Double Down Diner. I made the mistake of having the Wagyu Steak Sandwich from Porteno, leaving no room for the Cheeseburger ice cream treat from Messina. Delicious as it was, I now need to return to try the visually delightful Messina creation.

The bar opens at 4.30 and security do check ID's in the Village promptly. It makes for a lovely setting for a drink.

Festival Village Sydney Higher Ground

We pottered on the street artist Maser's giant art installation Higher Ground, though you can also check the website for the times of Lululemon athletica's complimentary 1 hour yoga classes in Hyde Park (for the early risers).

If you don't have tickets to the shows, there's no reason not to get out and enjoy the Festival of Sydney. It's one of the reasons we love living in this fantastic city!
