Freelance writer living in Mauritius, I love writing about exciting places to visit and taking photos of scenic views.
Watch the sky come alive this September at Australia's most famous beach with kites of different shapes, sizes and colours.

Described as the most colourful spring festival, the annual Festival of the Winds kite flying festival will take place at the Bondi pavilion on Sunday 11 September, 2011 from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Presented by the Bondi Pavilion in association with The Australian Kite flyers Society, the festival will showcase the great flying skills of Australian and international kite flyers with winners announced at the end of the competition. The public is invited to fly their own creations alongside other amateurs and professionals.

The Festival promises to be a family fun-packed event filled with activities for everyone such as free dance workshops, children's rides, workshops, roaming entertainment, puppet shows, art exhibitions in the Bondi Pavilion Gallery and demonstrations in the kite making Workshops.

Food lovers will be pampered with a large variety of international gourmet food to be consumed without moderation.

For further information, call the Bondi Pavilion on 8362 3400.

The best way to travel to the event is by public transport. Get more info here.

This looks amazing! I love kites, I can imagine that this would be a really incredible thing to see, especially on a clear blue day like it is in those photos. I'm not in Sydney when it is on, but I'll have to put it in my diary for next year.

How superb. I thought of something like this a few weeks ago when someone had taken a photo of kites flying at Bondi, yet it wasnt a festival. The festival would be spectacular and so much fun. Seeing the Bondi sky filled with kites would be a sight well worth experiencing.
