The Festival of the State Makers is an exciting new event that is being held at the recently revitalised State Buildings in the historic centre of Perth. Running throughout the month of April, the festival celebrates the unique tastes, experiences and ideas that our great state has to offer.
There are over 100 individual events ranging from food and beverage tastings to wellness workshops and kid's school holiday activities. There is truly something for everyone during this month long festival.
Eat and Drink
Come along and taste the best of Petition, Wildflower, Post and Long Chim. A host of different foodie events including wine-pairing dinners, champagne and canapé evenings, picnic lunches and high teas as well as many other food and beverage focused events will be on offer.
Let the chefs from the resident eateries of the State Buildings astound you with their range of dinners, lunches and special menu options.
Vinyasa Yoga, Outdoor Fitness Classes and Tai Chi workshops will be available at COMO The Treasury and also outdoors at Cathedral Square.
During the month of April, COMO The Treasury are also offering a rest and relax package which includes overnight accommodation for two adults, a 75 minute massage, a yoga class and also includes some meals.
An exciting program of free musical and artistic activities and events will complement the festival bringing the city to life.
The Cathedral Square Markets will be held on Sunday 3 April and will include quality vendors including art, design, jewellery and fashion. Every Saturday, live acoustic music will fill Cathedral Square as local artists take to the stage to entertain you. Make sure you also take the time to look at the creative displays from Artist in Residence, Matthew Hayes.
Workshops and Sessions
During the month, there will be a range of hands on workshops, activities and educational talks on topics ranging from chocolate tempering, cocktail masterclasses, personal styling workshops, argyle pink diamond masterclasses and many more.
Kids can also get involved by joining the Kids Noodle Making picnic at Long Chim or getting themselves involved in the circus skills workshops.
The festival is truly a celebration of West Australian creativity and a chance to meet the talented people behind the food and drink scene in Perth, all being held in the beautifully restored historic centre of Perth. Come and join the fun of this inaugural event.
