The Festival of Mosman is a ten-day celebration running from October 18-27 that aims to show off the best of Mosman through a series of events around the area. There will be concerts by the water, fine-dining experiences, unique art exhibitions, festivals in the park and more.
Highlights of the festival include:
A Traditional Sunset Ceremony Held on Balmoral Beach on Wednesday October 23, this event will be led by Yuin elder Uncle Max "Dulamunmun" Harrison and celebrate Aboriginal culture. There will be workshops, whale dreaming, Back to Country dances and traditional sunset ceremonies.
On Friday October 18, the first day of the festival, two music events will take place in Balmoral. First, the southern end of Balmoral Beach will host Balmoral Beats, an afternoon of BBQ and music from 3.30pm till 5pm. Later, Balmoral Reserve will host the festival's opening night concert, which will feature the likes of Emma Pask and The Jacques Emery Band, beginning at 6pm. On Friday October 25, a Concert by the Beach will be held, featuring many local bands and dance groups as well as the Royal Australian Navy Band, Sea State Seven. This concert will also be at Balmoral Reserve (running from 5pm to 8.30pm).
An Italian feast on the Village Green Taking place on Sunday October 20, this event will include a three course meal by Fourth Village Providore and a performance by Sylvana Bonacci.
Movies Under the Stars Two movie nights will be held as part of the festival, both on Saturdays at Mosman Village Green. The first will be held on October 19 and involve screenings of The Lego Movie 2 and Bohemian Rhapsody (the latter will be a silent movie, heard through headphones). On the following Saturday (October 26) Hotel Translylvania 3 will be screened as part of a Halloween-themed night, with kids encouraged to dress up.
Hunter Valley Uncorked On Sunday October 20 you'll be able to immerse yourself in the tastes of the Hunter at Balmoral Beach. The event will run from 11am to 5pm and there will be stalls and live music.
On Thursday October 24, Mosman Square and Village Green will host a night market celebrating spring flavours from 4.30pm to 9.00pm. On sale will be gourmet food, wine and beer, as well as artisan goods. There will also be buskers and face-painting for kids.
Children's Fair This fair will run from 10am to 12pm on Friday October 25 at Allan Border Oval. It's for kids up to 5 years old and will include rides, crafts, animals, face-painting, music, bubbles, a storytime session and more.

Pet's Day Out Located at Mosman Square and Village Green, this event will feature guests like Dr Katrina Warren and include a whole lot of classes, performances and fun competitions with prizes to be won. It will take place on Sunday October 27, from 10am to 2pm.

A quite varied art program will take place throughout the festival. Headland Artists will host multiple events, including an exhibition, as well as an open studios day on Saturday October 19. Other exhibitions include the Mosman Art Prize (already open at Mosman Art Gallery) and ones by Denise Pope and Tianli Zu.
