GOMA's James Turrell Nightlife is not the only light show in town this week. Westfield Chermside presents its very own Festival of Lights each evening from Thursday 2 August to Saturday 4 August, and it's FREE and family-friendly.
A large-scale light show in a suburban shopping centre sounds like an ambitious project, especially one that boasts fireworks, but last year's event was a show stopper and this year promises the same.
The Level 1 and Level 2 dining precincts are the places to be for light projections, live music by Brisbane DJ's, light and fireworks shows, and interactive roaming entertainers. There's even a spot of UV face painting - something the kids are bound to love.
Some of the best vantage points for the shows will be at one of the shopping centre's many dining establishments so why not book a table for dinner with a front row seat and a bird's eye view of all the action? You'll find all the restaurants online here.
The program for each evening is:
7:00pm: Lighting show with fireworks 8:00pm: Lighting show 9:00pm: Lighting show
