Have you ever gone into a business or home and seen a remarkable piece of glass art?

A handcrafted sculpture?

A delicate plate?

An exotic-looking vase?

Chances are, after standing and admiring it for a while, you want to know who created it. But sometimes it can be difficult to locate the people behind these amazing works of art.

That's why you should rearrange your Sunday schedule and pop on down to Drysdale (on the Bellarine Peninsula) to visit the Festival Of Glass.

Festival Of Glass 2012
Spectacular works of art will be on display all day

Located at Drysdale's Bellarine Basketball Stadium, the Festival will be on from 10am to 5pm, with free entry and the chance to immerse yourself in a different type of art form. There will be plenty of stalls, where you can meet glass artisans and view their work, as well as demonstrations of different glassworking techniques (including leadlighting, glass etching, and other creative glass-related skills).

Visitors have the opportunity to enter several competitions (including a major raffle with prizes donated by the exhibitors), or enrol in short courses in glass arts and crafts.

For those who simply want to take in their surrounds, there will be exhibitions of jewellery and art, as well as displays of glass collections (both historical and contemporary).

This may be only the second annual Festival Of Glass, but with over 50 exhibitors already involved, as well as food and entertainment available throughout the day, this event is likely to attract a popular following.
