If you think you know what having 'Fun' means you will be surprised at how much more fun than you could ever imagine you will have at Saint William's Festival of Fun . This amazing biennial extravaganza will be held in the grounds of St Williams Catholic Primary School , 67 Dawson Parade, Keperra with the fun commencing at 10.00am and concluding at 4.00pm on Saturday, 7 September, 2019.

Entry to all the fun is entirely FREE.

For 2019, the P&F is using the Festival of Fun as a means of raising funds to replace all the classroom interactive whiteboards/AV equipment throughout the school. To make sure there's enough fun available to make this a reality, there are some amazing activities planned. Special events, food and drink stalls, toys, books and Lucky Jar/Dip stalls as well as plenty of rides to keep kids of all ages entertained throughout the day.

Take as an example, the games that will be on-hand, such as Lob-a-Choc, Lucky Bottles, Lucky Squares, Lucky Dip and many others. Every child will want to pay a visit to the Face Painting and Crazy Hair Stall or their day just won't be complete.

Just like any fantastic fun place, St William's is going to have its own Side Show Alley, where there are going to be some really fantastic lots of fun and rides. On the day, make sure your kids have their Ride Pass at the ready and know where the Show Bag Stall is while you go off and have your own brand of fun.

For example, you will have a chance to win big on one of the raffles and the silent auctions. Some incredible donations by local supportive businesses and sponsors have been made for prizes and auction goods and if you join in, you will be helping the school and scoring some wonderful goodies for yourself.

And if you want to see some very original creativity make sure you're at the Cupcake Decorating Competition judging at 1pm. All created by the kids using their unlimited imaginations. There will be prizes and certificates for two categories: Prep to Year 2 and Year 3–Year 6. The best part of being on hand for this is that all entries will be available for purchase.

While on the subject of original creativity, a visit to the Student Art Gallery is a must for all lovers of fine art. You will be very surprised at just how talented St Williams' students are.

Along with all the rides, competitions and other fun activities, there will be a proliferation of scrumptious food and satisfying drink stalls. Possibly my favourite will be the Sweets and Treats Stall (as opposed to the other stall especially for cakes). This is where I'll stock up on my usual fete necessities starting with the coconut ice. After that I'm going to check out the caramel, chocolate, Scottish and Irish fudges, rocky road, Turkish delight, spiders, toffees, lolly necklaces, caramel popcorn, toffee apples, marshmallows dipped in chocolate, dipped chocolate snakes, sherbet, and so much more that nobody is going to leave here disappointed.

While the Sweets and Treats Stall gets a special mention due to my own preferences there is also going to be cake, drink and other food stalls. So if coconut ice and its ilk are not your bag (or you've had your fill), there's still going to be plenty to choose from once you stroll into the Food Hub. This is where you'll discover the meaning of the saying, 'Variety is the spice of life'. Too much to list here so suffice to say you won't leave the Food Hub disheartened.

While you're wandering around and not in need of a sugar, food or drink hit, you can check out the other stalls that will include such goodies as Children's Clothes, Children's Toys and Books, Ladies' Clothes, Plants and many others displaying all sorts of goods, crafts and nic-nacs.

The Festival of Fun 2019 at St William's, Grovely only comes about every second year, so if you miss this one it's going to be a long time waiting for the next. Come along and enjoy a great day of fun, entertainment, bargains and nutrition.
