I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
Event: -
For most of us, the start of November signals the end of the spooky season, but that's not the case in Campbelltown, with the Festival of Fisher's Ghost ready to take over from November 2 till November 11. This festival celebrates Frederick Fisher, the nation's most famous ghost. According to legend, in June of 1826, a man called Frederick Fisher went missing. Four months later, a farmer saw his ghost sitting on a fence and pointing to a paddock. What was in the paddock? You guessed it: Fisher's body. You can read about the event, Fisher himself and whether he's still around today here.

While there are events on Friday November 2, the Festival of Fisher's Ghost (unofficially) begins on Saturday November 3 when a street parade lights up Queen Street. This year the floats are inspired by two themes: Light and Life Under the Sea, and The Legend of Fisher's Ghost. Following the street parade, and its closing fireworks, a screening of the original Ghostbusters film will then take place at Koshigaya Park for Fishers Flicks.

The Fisher's Ghost Carnival is another highlight of the festival. It will be held across five nights (November 2-4 and November 9-10) at Bradbury Oval. This great family event will feature over twenty rides, with something suitable for every age. If you attend on a Saturday, there will also be fireworks.

Also early in the festival, the winner of the Fisher's Ghost Art Award will be announced Friday November 2, and an exhibition of the finalists will run until Thursday December 13 at Campbelltown Arts Centre. The centre will then host a free kids day on Sunday November 4, with installations, workshops, performances and more, all ending with a dance battle.

If you're a local music fan, you may want to check out Fisher's Gig, which will return to Bradbury Park on Saturday November 3. This free, all-ages event features local and headliner acts (see a list here).

Towards the end of the festival, on Friday November 9, Campbelltown Council will host its first ever Pokemon GO! event at Mawson Park. Lures will be placed round the park and, if you're into the card game, Gametraders Macarthur is offering free lessons and cards to the first 100 players. Dress up and you may win a prize.

On Saturday November 10, the Fisher's Ghost Street Fair will take place at Mawson Park and Queen Street. There will be a hundred stalls selling food, fashion, show bags, jewellery, homewares and more. Mawson Park will also host many free kids activities, including a concert, a mad scientist workshop, mini golf, inflatables and more.

On the last day of the festival, Sunday November 11, the Mardens Law Group Fisher's Ghost Fun Run will take place at the Campbelltown Campus of Western Sydney University. There will be 5km and 10km events.
