Experience the magic of Christmas in the city
Experience the magic of Christmas at this years City of Perth Festival of Christmas 2014. The Festival runs over six weeks, and is jam-packed full of Christmas activities and entertainment including roving carolling in the city's streets and malls, free festive movies at the Northbridge Piazza and the Christmas nativity concerts in Forrest Place.

Turning on of the Christmas Lights

Make your way into the city on Friday 14th November, 2014 for the Turning on of the Christmas Lights. The City of Perth's Lord Mayor will turn on this year's Christmas spectacular with over one hundred thousand lights and decorations.

Kicking off the popular festival, the lights will transform the city into a magical Christmasy wonderland. Bring the whole family along to see the beautiful lighting display and decorations, plus enjoy the roving entertainment and keep a look out for Santa and his sleigh, making a special early visit.

Carols by Candlelight

The annual Carols by Candlelight concert will be held in the Supreme Court Gardens on Sunday 21st December, 2014. Come along and join in the festive singing, hosted by Graham Maybury and Louise Momber, with guests Tom Burlinson and Chelsea Gibson.

Gates open at 4.30pm, there will be some pre-show entertainment and kids activites from 6.30pm, then the main event begins at 7.30pm, and a fantastic fireworks display finishes off the evening.

Perth City Christmas Decorations

Come to the City and see the fantastic Christmas Decorations in Forrest Place. This year there is a new 13m tall Christmas Tree, magical Christmas lights and decorations all over the city, the Nativity Scene at Council House, Christmas projections on the GPO building, and the lighting display at the bell Tower.

The City of Perth lights and decorations will be on display from Friday 14th November, 2014 until Sunday 4th January, 2015.

Christmas Pageant

Enjoy all the colour and spectacle of the annual Christmas Pageant, on Saturday 6th December, 2014, starting at 7.30pm. The parade has all the usual favourite floats and characters including bands, clowns, dancers, TV personalities, Fat Cat, and of course Santa and his reindeer

London Court Snow Shows

London Court becomes a winter wonderland this Christmas with daily Snow Shows, at 11.45am and 1.15pm, from Saturday 13th December until Wednesday 24th December, 2014.

Christmas Chill-Out Zone

Visit the Christmas Chill-Out Zone and take part in a range of free, fun children's activities including face painting, Christmas card decorating, the Water Labyrinth, balloons, library books and more. Grown-ups can have a rest and relax in the comfy deck-chairs provided.

The Chill-Out Zone is only open on weekends.

Festive Flicks - Free Movies

A series of Christmas themed movies will be screened at the Northbridge Piazza, in the lead up to Christmas.

These free movies will be shown from Saturday 6th December, 2014 until Wednesday 24th December, 2014, and include family-friendly classics such as The Grinch, Polar Express, Arthur Christmas, Deck the Halls, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and smash hit favourite Frozen.

These are just some of the fantastic events scheduled for the Festival of Christmas 2014, and there are loads more. There really is something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas.
