Do you love the idea to spend the weekend to enjoy the art of culture, culinary, craft, and fashion in one place? A very special event has them all: Festival Indonesia 2011.

Festival Indonesia, in its seventh consecutive year, is the biggest annual cultural event in Melbourne. It will be focused on culinary, dance performance, tourism and business information about our neighbor country, Indonesia.

This time, Festival Indonesia 2011 comes in the series of events; with the main event itself will be held on 10th and 11th September 2011 at Queensbridge Square, Southbank, just across The Crown Hotel.

At the Festival Indonesia weekend 2011, trade stalls, food stalls, cultural performers and workshop will be available for all of us to enjoy and experience the wonder of Indonesia just right in the heart of Melbourne.

From 1am to 9pm, you will be given the chance to enjoy the authentic cultural performances from Indonesia performers such as Bali, Java, Kalimantan, Sumatra and Nusa Tenggara. There are also numerous local performers from motherland to take part in spicing up the excitement of the festival.

Other than that, along with this spring breeze, there will be a large variety of the mouth-watering authentic Indonesian cuisine food stalls just for you. Moreover, there will be a cooking demonstration from Indonesian chefs. They will hold the culinary workshop at the 'Clive Peeters' pavilion about the handy tips to prepare the simple and delicious Indonesian cuisines and food and fruit carving techniques.

In addition to this program, the chefs will also have a workshop at several TAFE and Universities on 5 September 9 September, with the venues to be announced later. The young generation will have the opportunity to learn more about Indonesian cuisines and the food and fruit carving techniques.

For fashionista, do not miss your chance to see how culture meets fashion. This time, the theme of the Fashion Design Competition (1st August-3rd September) is all about the beauty of Tenun (a fabric from Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia). Although the fashion competition is already over, those Melburnian aspiring amateur designers will show their creations in the Festival Indonesia Weekend 2011 runaway.

Known as an archipelago country, Indonesia offers many natural attraction and wonders. In this Festival Indonesia you can get further information about tourism in Indonesia. This year, the lovers of travel will be introduced to a new tourism territory Nusa Tenggara Timur, the island where the Komodo dragon lives. There will be information about other islands of Indonesia as well, such as the mystical Java island, the magnificent rain-forest home in Borneo, adventure in Sumatera, the city that never sleeps: Jakarta, and so on.

The trade stalls also will be held in Festival Indonesia Weekend 2011 to introduce the Indonesian productions to Melburnians. The art craft workshop and the local product will be displayed in here.

Besides the main event, there is another event of Festival Indonesia 2011 such as Indonesia Night A Journey through the Wonders of Indonesia. The venue will be held at The Palms Crown on 9th September. In this opening night of Festival Indonesia 2011, we will be brought to the enchanting land of a Thousand Kingdom and experience the heritage of Indonesia people. Enjoy the traditional dance performances from many regions from Indonesia, authentically from Indonesian performers. For further information, see here.

Another event is the educational children's musical performance brought to you from Festival Indonesia 2011. The Balinese Princess and the Funky Monkey, performed by various local performers is a great choice for little ones to experience the enchanted magical story from the God's Island, Bali.
