For the 27th year, Ferrara will be the host of the International Buskers Festival , which will be held from 21 to 31 August. It is a great opportunity for buskers to share their arts and talents all day long and with the popular approval. The project started in 1988 from a clever intuition of the founder, Stefano Bottoni, in order to increase consensus above artists performing along the streets, worldwide.



The exhibitions have their go on streets, squares and alleys of the city, with the chance to make some money passing the hat.



Each edition is dedicated to a nation: for the upcoming event, Mongolia is the country chosen, with the majority of participants coming from that area. The artists are classified in "invited" and "fringe credited". For the first ones, the organizations will refund the travel expenses and will arrange hospitality, with the artists abiding to perform for all the duration of the event. The second group (credited ones) will be given special offers on hotels and restaurants. You can find the rules through the specific web section .

Mandatory is that everyone should make their performances by facing all the expenses concerning equipment and tools. On the other hand, there is no ticket to pay to enter the festival.



Australia, for example, will be present with Alexander Han and the Blue Riders (invited artists). In the previous editions the Down Under was present with Oum Tcha (2011), Juzzie Smith (2009), The Fellowship of the Strings (2007), the kilted generation (2005), Lindsay Buckland (1996) and Tony Wairea, with the Didgeridoo (1988).

From 2011, the festival is projected to make the event itself ecofriendly, with a proper structure on waste management. The purpose is to reach the most adequate and highest standard in reducing wastefulness.
