Fairs are always such fun! With so much to do for all ages, now is the season for many of the schools and organisations to hold their annual fairs. The weather is not quite as hot as in summer making it conducive to these outdoor fairs.

The is run by the Ferncourt Public School Parents & Citizens Association. It will be back again for another year in 2019.

It is a popular community event in the inner west and the focus of the fair has always been on creating a family event inspired by community and good fun! And now that tradition continues into 2019.

Everyone is invited to attend this fair whether you are from the broader Marrickville community or beyond. Come along and have a fun day out.

The fair will be held on Saturday 11th May 2019 from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm. The address is 74 Premier Street, Marrickville.

At this event, you can "Get Smart or Get Slimed!" , hunt for hidden treasures on the white elephant stall and grab a yummy homemade cake, books, flowers, a craft item or perhaps some potted plants.

As well as all this, there will be several stages with great live music along with lots of live entertainment and performances throughout the day.

As usual, this year the will be held on the Saturday before Mother's Day, so it is a brilliant opportunity to come and buy that special something for a very important and much-loved lady - you can get unique gifts and so much more.

With plenty of delicious fare available, your taste buds won't be disappointed. Choose from Spanish paella, pulled pork or Vietnamese street food. Of course, all the favourites are on offer too with a sausage sizzle, fairy floss, lolly stall, gelato and barista-made coffee all day.

For those who are perhaps seniors and may need a rest after all that fun, you can sit peacefully and sip on some tea while you have a Devonshire Tea. This is in the cafe in the rose garden outside Ferncourt's 1886 heritage building.

This fair is the school's main fundraising event and only happens once every two years. Making it work out and being a success is very important to the P&C's ongoing support of the School Community.

This year's Fair will also be the home of The Look Up project. This is a community art installation created by all of the children at Ferncourt school. It was inspired by the topics of inclusivity, collaboration and sustainability. Made entirely from unwanted fabric, the art installation will be made from over 100m of bunting. This will then form a stunning welcome canopy at the entrance to the fair – a "celebration of community, vibrancy and positivity."

The fair is about making good memories for the children and creating an important event in their primary school years. This will then be something they can feel proud of and look back on in later years. The fair also brings the local community together.

Please support this worthy cause and come along to the fair which will be bigger and better than ever!
