There is a new Italian restaurant on Wharf Rd, Gladesville, and it is totally worth a visit. Situated opposite the clock tower in Gladesville, you will find Fermenti Pizzeria e Cucina at 1-3 Wharf Road, under one of the new residential towers.
Having recently opened (Sept 19), Fermenti Pizzeria e Cucina specialises in Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and, of course, Italian food. The décor is casual, yet warm and inviting, there is outdoor seating available and the staff and owners are young, enthusiastic Italians, passionate about their food.
My 9 year old really loves their Lasagna alla Bolognese ($23), he said its better than mine. The "Pesce Marinato" (Salmon, white Anchovies, Swordfish, Spanish onion, marinated in Apple Cider vinegar $21) is moreish and the Gnocchi Gamberi e Asparagi (Housemade potato Gnocchi with king prawns, fresh asparagus and Pecorino cheese $26) manages to make Gnocchi a light summery dish.
The Pizza base and Pizza bread is pretty much perfect.
The pizza bread is amazing, I could eat the whole basket. Obviously, everyone has their own preference with regard to pizza bases, but I don't like too chewy, too crisp, dry or tasteless. So to me, this one is pretty perfect. Pizzas range from $18-$27 starting with Margherita, all the way to Tartufo, Prosciutto, Vegetariana, Patate e Salsiccia and more. There are plenty of vegan options amongst them as well.
The desserts were so good, and i cant say no to a Limoncello
Desserts are as they should be, decadent and fresh. There is the Italian classic of Tiramisu at $13, Mousse of Ricotta with candied zest, pear and hazelnut biscuit at $14, Panna Cotta at $15 and Gelato at $4.
The kids are catered for as well with 3 choices from $8-$12 and you can check out their entire menu here
