FERMENT the FESTIVAL is a four-day all-things-fermented event at Rundle Park beginning on Thursday the 19th of October 2017. It will showcase fine cheesemakers and artisan producers of fermented foods and beverages. It will promote, educate and develop Australia's specialty cheese as well as quality chocolate, charcuterie and more.

Thursday night kicks off with the inaugural FERMENT the DINNER which will be held alfresco under the stars at 6pm. Chef Jock Zonfrillo will present a fermented feast of courses prepared with fermentation in mind. Tickets are strictly limited at $280 per head.

FERMENT the BARS will bring live hands-on brewing and fermentation to the festival. There will be plenty of workshops in the lab and masterclasses to choose from. You can learn how fermentation occurs and gain expert advice for the perfect brew at home. Ticket prices vary, so do check out their website for the details.

There will also be a number of MASTERCLASSES featuring fermented food throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can get hands on with lentils; explore vegetable and legume fermentation and all things kraut and kimchi; be introduced to umami fermented without animals; learn to produce delicious sourdough loaves using fermentation; or learn how to make butter at home. Tickets range between $25 and $30 per masterclass, plus general admission entry to the festival. Head to their website to purchase your tickets.
