Part of the Perth Festival, Feminism Has No Borders is a series of short dance pieces created by artists in their own spaces in different cities around the world. This beautiful series of short films enjoying a World Premiere can be seen at The Blue Room Theatre for FREE, from Tue 23 to Sat 27 February. The theatre is located in the Perth Cultural Centre, 53 James St, Northbridge and open from Tue-Sat 5-9pm. Lasting 20 minutes the film is shown on a continuous loop.
Local and international dance artists partner up in a virtual choreographic collaboration. A meditative and mesmerising series, it takes a uniquely fresh approach to dance on film. Created by four pairs of female choreographers in different locations and brought together by Emma Fishwick and Sally Richardson, these films are gentle yet powerful explorations of feminism and landscape and ways of creating and ways of being when travel across the country is not possible, let alone around the world. This event offers fresh insight into the possibilities of form and the presentation of ideas in new and unexpected ways.
