The Stirling Players , well-known for quality productions, present a selection of short one-act plays for October.

As is usual in these productions, the plays are separate but connected with a common thread - in this case all directed by women, providing the 'Feminine Touch'.

The three plays are firstly, Snakes and Ladders written by Tony Moore and directed by Christine Ellis. The plot concerns sisters Emily and Charlotte who are together late one night, when Charlotte's daughter Beth turns up after having caught her husband out having an affair with one of his students. Her arrival and the subsequent exploration of her mother's and aunt's younger days reveals secrets that perhaps should have remained hidden.

Level 12 by Kate Beck and directed by Sophie Prober explores what might happen when people get stuck together in a lift. The play explores one possible scenario.

The Broken Slipper by local playwright Yvette Wall is directed by Alida Chaney. Everyone knows what happens to Cinderella at midnight, but what if the pantomime characters are unhappy with their stories and want to do something different? This very funny play explores some of the possible consequences.

Broken Slipper won 'People's Choice' for its night at the recent Dramafest as well as 'Best Production', 'Best Director', 'Best New Writing' and 'Best Costume' as well as 'Best Supporting Actor (Kieran Garvey) and Actress' (Sharnya Thompson).

The Feminine Touch runs from October 23rd to November the 1st at the Stirling Theatre, 25 Morris Place, Innaloo. Bookings from Morris News on 9440 1040. Tickets $22 Full, $20 Concessions, $18 Members.
