Feltations Exhibition at Gallery One, 1 Torrens Street, Mitcham is a colourful and dynamic presentation of the unique and time honoured craft of felting, open until the 20th October.
Bursts of colour proudly on display
The lovingly crafted creations of various artisans are on display at the exhibition, which proudly displays how versatile this textile can be in crafting bespoke clothing and jewellery, with fun and functional pieces alike.
I attended the gala opening of the exhibition on the 1st October where I was greeted by the vivacious Kay Schultz, whose talent and creative flair is without doubt. A sentiment which was echoed by the friends of the exhibition I met at Gallery One, who are hosting the exhibition.
Gallery One is looking for individual artists or collectives interested in exhibiting. They are seeking painters in any medium, photographers, printmakers, textile artists, and artists working in three-dimensional mediums, including glass, ceramics, wood and metal.
The Feltations Exhibition would make an interesting excursion for the children these school holidays. It will act as an inspiration for activities that elicit the talents within each creative child or adult.
You'll enjoy the visit to the exhibition and the children could try the activity below to keep the family entertained.
