Facing the facts feijoas have become part of our Kiwi nation's DNA, and Auckland will have a great opportunity to indulge their love of the juicy green fruit at the Feijoa Festival.

Yes, that is quite correct, Takapuna on the North Shore's Pump House Theatre will be hosting a festival dedicated to this delicious fruit. It will bring their community together to provide an interactive event that will include fresh, local organic food and beverages as well as local and international music and even art displays and a feijoa forest dance floor. As the youngsters say these days, chur.

The music will include everything from classic singalong to Jim Hendrix- inspired rock' n' roll, old school reggae, new style funk and DJ's covering a wide range of genres.

Food and drinks are naturally essential to any festival and the Feijoa Festival is to have it all. Lothlorien will serve a wide variety of feijoa wine with numerous food stalls all serving up a wide variety of flavours of the green fruit, from the sweet to the savoury. The All Good Club - a non-profit organisation will help raise awareness of men's mental health. Raffles sold during the day to help raise funds for this legendary cause.

But the party doesn't stop there. After the feijoa celebrations are over people can head along to Macs Brew Bar in Takapuna for some of the 'brown stuff' with professional fire dancers, a live band and a variety of DJ's in attendance to party into the night.
