A condensed history of Australia
Federation Story
Entrance to Federation Story

Among the many choices of things to do at Federation Square, secretly tucked away on the balcony section overlooking the Atrium is a free exhibition that displays the historical points leading up to the Federation of Australia; as well as ongoing issues that continue today. The exhibition is called Federation Story and is a small exhibition showcasing some of the most salient moments in Australian history.

In the middle of the exhibition is also a digital screen where you can learn about Australian history by searching via themes or by decade. Themes vary widely and cover eighteen different categories from sport, culture and politics all the way though to science, art and conflict. As for searching by decade, this begins at pre-1850's and journeys all the way to 2010's.

So whether you're a history buff or are wanting to pass some time, the Federation Story exhibition is a great choice and is also a great spot to stand for a while and peacefully watch the world go by.
