Fed in French is the perfect name for this event? It spills out from Fed Square. And France, of course, we just love your food. In fact, your food is loved the whole world over.

Held over three days from March 29 to 31 this French food event showcases popular French street food and wine so you can smell, taste and drink all that embodies French cuisine pique-nique style and then have your own picnic down on the banks of the river.

While a new event, it comes from those with a proven track record. It is from the creators of the well-known Paris to Provence who have partnered with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival for this debut.

Mosey around and enjoy quintessential French cuisine from 25 food exhibitors, five champagne and wine exhibitors and two official restaurants. Stalls at this stage include: Tin Shed Charcuterie, Maille Mustard Truck, Preserved and Pickled, Les Crepes de Marion, La Bastide, The Love Mussel, Pop Up Crepes, Babou Juice, Choukette,Pookie May Coffee, In My French Hamper, France at Home, Noisette Macarons, Paella Pan, Gateaux by Marc Frissard, Caseus Fromagerie, The brûlée cart, Kronenbourg, Noisette Boulangerie, Clos Cachet, Bordeaux and Beyond Wines, Champagnes Australia, Milk the Cow, Orangina, and Airoldi Fine Wines. My favourite Melbourne French bistro is also doing a pop-up Bon Ap' Bistro ,


Of course, the Yarra is not the Seine, but sometimes when you squint your eyes and daydream it is. Now, pretending it's Paris's Seine River for just three days, families and friends can walk along the River Terrace and taste authentic and traditional French fare like bouillabaisse or ratatouille, traditional crepes, and baguettes.



This festival comes to you from all over France. From the rich sauces of Northern France in Normandy to the Mediterranean influence of southern France in Marseille you're invited to come along and eat like a French tourist for a few hours as you buy some freshly made French fare and pull up a spot on a picnic rug or table.



You will find this festival in Federation Square on the
Cnr Flinders and Swanston streets but spilling down onto the
River Terrace or would it be insane to rename it the Seine for three days?





The event is on from 29/03/2019 to 31/03/2019. It involves two evenings, which might be a nice time to be beside the river.

Sat: 11am – 9pm
Sun: 11am – 6pm
