The festive season has ended and, thanks to Australia Day, so has the New Year's resolution to get fit.

How can you say no to lamingtons, pavlova and a BBQ charred chop? It's just not Australian to count the calories on the day we celebrate our nation's tremendous tucker.

Well, you don't have to miss out as FebFast is offering you the chance to start afresh.

FebFast is a charity that raises money to fight youth addiction by challenging you to refrain from your favourite vice for just 28 days. You can choose from 5 habits to kick for the month and maybe for a lot longer.

FebFast's vision is to improve the personal health of all Australians, especially vulnerable and disadvantaged young people experiencing alcohol, drug and mental health issues.

The mission of FebFast is to give individuals the tools and opportunity to reflect, change and break existing routines that inhibit wellness, starting with alcohol consumption.

FebFast gives people the chance to make a change, not only for themselves by establishing a healthy lifestyle but for the community through fundraising to improve the lives of vulnerable young people.

"FebFast is all about taking a circuit breaker from some of our creeping bad habits" says Howard Ralley, National Director of FebFast "Not only will you have improved your health as you tame a habit, you will also have helped raise money to tackle youth addiction".

So, what do you need to do to get started?

1. First up, kick a habit. Select from alcohol, sugar, junk food, smoking or social media.

2. Get a team together or choose to go solo. You decide what you pay for registration, with proceeds going towards the campaign target of $1,000,000.

3. FebFast supports you with apps, eMagazines, blogs, email, SMS and expert help from their ambassadors and "Fast" gurus. You'll even find FebFast Friendly Venues to discourage you from giving up.

4. Fundraising is done via your personalised online fundraising page which is linked to the mobile app. This has all the tools you'll need to succeed.

It's as easy as that and if you need any more encouragement, go to the tonic blog for some inspiring information and stories.

So, don't feel guilty about that delicious lamington, piece of pavlova or that BBQ charred chop. FebFast is giving you the opportunity to start again.

You can register here and, whatever your health goal, FebFast is the perfect way to kick start a healthier year as well as helping to raise money to fight youth addiction.
