Healthy and tasty meals delivered to your door

Feastively is a Melbourne grown venture which aims to deliver healthy, tasty and convenient meals to Melburnians, striking the balance between the convenience of takeaway and the satisfaction of home-cooking. Harry is the owner and chief foodie at Feastively, who is the brains behind the 15-minutes meals delivered to your door.

The process is simple and straightforward. Firstly, choose your meal from their concise and international menu which changes weekly. Secondly, they will wash, chop, marinate and package fresh ingredients for you. Thirdly, they will deliver the meal to your door. Lastly, cook a tasty meal in 15 minutes.

I recently had the opportunity to sample 3 meals from their menu.

The first meal I tried was Indian cottage cheese in mild tomato sauce. The meal kit contained individually packaged chopped capsicum, cottage cheese, tomato sauce, naan bread, coriander powder and yoghurt dip. All I had to provide was some cooking oil and salt/pepper to taste. This dish was easy to make following the steps listed in the accompanying instruction sheet.

Once the dish was ready, I tentatively sampled a spoonful. I found the cottage cheese to be fresh and delicious. The tomato sauce had a bit of a kick to it. The naan was light and soft. The accompanying yoghurt dip was yum, which rendered the desired cooling effect after finishing the meal.

The Spanish chicken dish was quite nice. The meal kit contained individually packaged cooked chicken, sofrito sauce, cooked rice, parsley and chilli flakes. I had the option of adding the brown rice to the sofrito sauce directly and heating together or microwave the rice. I chose to microwave the rice. The chicken was fresh and tender. The sofrito sauce containing sauté tomatoes, bay leaves and mushroom was quite mild. The chopped parsley and chilli flakes which were provided to garnish the dish actually enhanced the flavours.

The last dish was the chicken yakitori dish which was scrumptious. The meal kit contained individually packaged marinated chicken, cooked rice, slaw mix, lemon juice, mayo, chopped spring onion and BBQ sauce.

The marinated chicken was lean and succulent. The cooked rice was beautiful with its lovely grains. The salad of the slaw, lemon juice, mayo with a bit of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste was a good side. The chicken yakitori is a moreish Japanese dish which delights the taste buds.

My husband and I enjoyed all the meals which were big enough for 2 adults. The best part of meals was the convenience. It was like having my personal kitchen helper. Everything in the meal kits had been meticulously chopped, marinated, cooked and packaged. Knowing what was going into my meals was a plus. The short cooking timeframe i.e. 15 minutes or less ensured that I did not slave away in the kitchen longer than I wanted to. I got to savour Indian, Spanish and Japanese on 3 consecutive nights of the week which appealed to the foodie in me.
