This is wonderful entertainment in anybody's book. The antics of the Fawlty Towers crew just hasn't lost any of its appeal.

Okay, so this isn't the original Basil Fawlty (hence the new name Faulty) but we know the skits and this actor does a great impression.

The company started in Brisbane in 1997. It does all the comedy festivals, but is more recently based in London and is so popular that it is now touring the world. The year will see it tour 20 countries.

This is not traditional theatre restaurant material which is sometimes a bit coarse and is usually acted as you sit over a lack lustre meal.

Rather, it is total immersion theatre where the audience becomes part of the show. But certainly not in that awful stand up and be picked on and belittled kind of way.

The show always starts with pre-dinner drinks. You are standing around waiting to be called to your table. Next thing there is Basil calling the guest list. How you respond to this might just see you involved in the show. They tend play for laughs and some out going audience members tend to give them plenty of fuel to ignite the humour.

As an example, the middle-aged man who said to Basil "Don't mention the war" when we were being seated almost became part of the show.

When booking, you really should ask for a table in the centre of the room as most of the antics radiate out from that point. Although the actors do make sure they get round to every table.

As Manuel was showing my teenage son pictures of his sister's hairy ass, I started to get a bit perturbed but as you can imagine, it was all quite innocent. So pick your mind up out of the gutter.

Much of the humour comes from Manuel who takes English meanings so literally.

"Roll on plate" finds Manuel skidding across the floor on a dinner plate.

"Wait on table" means just what you'd expect. Manuel is almost standing on your plate of food.

And as for what one lady found in her soup, I can only say check your bowl carefully.

The John Cleese look alike who plays Basil Faulty has the famous actor down pat, with his bulging eyes and ridiculous walks.

And then there is his wife Sybil with her ear piercing screams for "Ba.......sil!

And when Basil tries to get Manuel to lay a bet for him, the fun is on.

The show goes for two hours over a three course meal which is generally a 70's inspired menu (in keeping with the show) of items such as pumpkin soup, chicken and mushy peas. Although you can normally change the menu if you have any special dietary requests.

The meal we had was excellent, but it might just depend on which venue you go to.

There are a number of shows on in Perth at the following places. All shows start at 6.30 with pre-dinner drinks, with the dinner and entertainment beginning at 7pm. Highly recommended.

With its blend of slapstick, funny lines and confusion it will get even the dourest of people laughing.

I would have loved to have gone to this but all of the tickets in and around Perth have sold out for weekend shows.
I hope they come back and do it again!
