If you loved Fawlty Towers, the television show (and who didn't?), then this is a dining experience you must not miss.

Being a huge fan of all things Monty Python and John Cleese, this was one of my favourite comedies ever, and I can still roar with laughter when watching repeats. John Cleese is so adaptable and plays each part he stars in to perfection and being based on the original characters, this is one dinner show I do not want to miss.

This "made-in-Australia" globe-trotting show is truly quite legendary, selling out in places like the Sydney Opera House, the Raffles in Singapore and London's West End.

This is the 20th birthday year of touring, and it now returns to Rigby's Bar & Bistro for two nights only. As the show usually sells out quickly, make sure you scroll down and book now!

ABOUT FAWLTY TOWERS - THE ORIGINAL
John Cleese was inspired to write what became Fawlty Towers after he and the rest of the Monty Python team were staying at a hotel in Torquay whilst filming the Monty Python television series.

This was in the early 1970's, and the "wonderfully rude" hotel owner endeared himself to the Monty Python team by throwing Eric Idle's briefcase out of the hotel in case it had a bomb inside it!

This gentleman hotelier also complained about Terry Gilliam's table manners, as he chucked a bus timetable at another guest after the guest dared to ask the time of the next bus to town.

There were only ever 12 episodes made of the wonderful Fawlty Towers but who could forget the bumbling idiot of a hotel owner, Basil Fawlty, together with the lovable Manuel. They get into all sorts of strife each time guests arrive.

Basil is an inept and slightly out-of-his-mind English hotel manager, who gets angry when the annoying (to him only) guests arrive and insist on staying at his hotel.

Basil is continually berated by his wife, Sybil, and his efforts are often hampered by their Spanish waiter, Manuel who's lack of English leads to all sorts of side-splitting comedy.

Here is a link to a video clip just to get you "in the mood":

To refresh your memory before you attend this humorous dinner, here are just some of the episodes which I particularly loved:

  • The Germans
  • The Hotel Inspectors
  • The Kipper and the Corpse
  • The Waldorf Salad
  • Basil the Rat
  • The Builders
  • The Wedding Party

  • THE DINNER**
Chaos greets the audience as soon as you walk through the door as you are asked not to take a seat as Basil will personally escort you to your seats!

This is a totally immersive experience with the audience becoming diners in the Faulty restaurant and being served a 3-course meal by Basil, Sybil and Manuel.

There will be lashings of laughter, bowls full of spontaneity and as much audience participation as individual audience members want out of the experience!

About 70% of this show is ad-libbed and this ensures that no two performances are ever the same.

The West Australian describes the dinner/show as Hilarious… an unforgettable night out

This show was created in Brisbane in April 1997 and has been a worldwide hit, appearing in around 20 countries.

It is the most successful interactive comedy show of its kind and a unique one.

Ten teams of cast members now tour the world virtually non-stop while the cast for Rigby's Bar & Bistro features the following actors/entertainers:

  • Monique Lewis-Reynolds as Sybil
  • Dan Wood as Basil
  • Andy Foreman as Manuel

  • You can see more about the performers here on the Actors Page, which is under the 'About' tab at the top.
