Father's Day is on its way! It will be held on Sunday, 3rd September and father figures all around the Capital will enjoy spending time with their loved ones. Check out these events for ideas of what to do the Dad in your life...

Canberra Southern Cross Club will be hosting a Father's Day Breakfast and High Brew at their Jamison Club and also a Father's Day Lunch at the Yacht Club in Yarralumla, overlooking Lake Burley Griffin. Kitefest will be held again at Googong with huge character kites such as a whale shark, dragons, bunny rabbits, a stingray, astronauts and a flying pig! Take your own kite and enjoy the festivities between 11am and 2pm. This is a fun and free event. See here for details.

QT Canberra always celebrate Father's Day in style and this year is no different! They have organised a decadent brunch for the whole family, with lawn games for the kids. See here for details.

The National Dinosaur Museum will be having a Father's Day weekend with matching face painting for Dads and kids, a sausage sizzle, tours, fossil hunts and much more! See here for details.

Hotel Kurrajong in Barton have a Father's Day Burgers & Beers Lunch and a Father's Day Takeaway Grazing Box available for picnics. If your dad loves burgers, he will love the make-your-own burger buffet with wagyu beef, peri-peri chicken, Moroccan lamb, double smoked bacon, fries and all the trimmings! See here for details.

Local Breweries & Pubs are always busy on Father's Day for thirsty Dads and their families! Capital Brewing Co in Fyshwick and Bentspoke Brewery in Braddon are two favourites, which have a range of their local beers on tap and delicious food to match. The Durham Castle Arms in Kingston will be having wings, brisket, ribs, beer paddles and prizes, especially for Father's Day. Also, check out the local sports bars around Canberra (such as The Dock in Kingston and the The Raiders Clubs ) who will be showing the Canberra Raiders game at 4pm!
