Amazing dads deserve an amazing day!
Take Dad out for an unforgettable and fun day for Father's Day, close to where you work and play at Croydon Main Street in Croydon just off Mt Dandenong Rd. The whole family can enjoy a day filled with wonderfully fun activities. There is something to please everyone because they are doing it up big for dads including a Classic Car and Movies Car Show from 10 am - 2 pm Saturday, 2nd September, 2017.

And there are so many festivities on offer. Sign up for the pie eating competition for dads (cash prize and trophy for winners). Plus a change to win $400 worth of vouchers but registration is essential prior to the event. Then for entertainment there is the Junior Rockabilly Pin Up Girls and Boys Show. If you are not scared of scaly things like me then try the reptile petting zoo. Fab Face painting is also happening.

Will you be a butterfly, tiger or bear? Make sure Dad gets some war strips or maybe his footie colours. There is also a Father's Day craft at Kids Boutique Cafe at 11.15 (This you need to book ahead for at 9723 1584). You can make Dad a special card or pressie. Dads love homemade stuff from the heart.

Then there is a Rock & Roll street dance performance by Viva la Dance Studio. So you can dance the arvo' away and have room for some of the yummy treats on offer to feed that growling beast of Dad's tum tum. There are some delicious restaurants up and down the street with tables out in the sunshine. Many have water bowls for your pooches, but they must be on a lead. And there is another $500 worth of vouchers are up for grabs by shopping at participating stores, so make sure you drop them in that special box.

Now this event is not just for the fun of it, it is also to help a very special charity.

The local charity partner for this event is Elisha Care who help restore hope, value and purpose to broken men and women. Geoff Marsh who used to lead up the compassion ministry at Yarra Valley Vineyard Church started Elisha Care. According to Geoff,
"….we are a group of Christians who want to get to know and serve people who are hurting or in need, particularly in the Croydon area (an eastern suburb of Melbourne).

We have established a number of opportunities where we get together to help out whoever we can. One is "The Well", where many lonely, broken and addicted men and women come for support and guidance. We also meet people and build friendships while gathering together for coffee in the main street of Croydon and then there's the times we team together to go and give somebody a much needed hand."

Everyone needs a hand at some point in their lives. And you can treat Dad and help at the same time. There is longer time parking out the back of the strip shops and along the park to the Croydon Swimming Pool. So you should be right for a quick stroll into the busy centre. Bring change for all the fun things you are going to want to buy for one and all in the family.
