How often is Dad too busy to spend time with his kids? Work, meetings, sport and television all tend to get in the way of spending quality time together. Let your son or daughter enjoy the experience of having Dad all to him/herself for a whole weekend. Fathering Adventures is an amazing opportunity for a child and father to connect with each other in a way they don't normally experience.
Founded in July 2008 by previous Queensland Father of the Year Darren Lewis, Fathering Adventures encourages fathers to connect with their young children (7 to 13 years old) by experiencing adventures together. The adventure weekends consist of a combination of group activities and valuable one-on-one time with each other.
With a number of weekends available per year, you can choose which one fits in best with your other commitments. Check out the website to see which weekends still have vacancies for fathers and daughters or fathers and sons
All weekends are $225 per person, which includes 2 night's accommodation, all meals, coaching, and outdoor adventure activities. Longer adventures of 4 or 5 nights are also available for dads with daughters or sons from 13 to 70 years of age.
You're right, Bryony. The activities depend on the location but Darren offers weekends for both sons and daughters in each location. The camps for older kids are a little different for boys and girls as it includes the acknowledgement and celebration of manhood/womanhood.
