Father's Day is a popular day for families to get together. Restaurants are usually booked out for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Gifts change hands, smiles to go all around. Some families however like to spend a day indoor. Breakfast in bed, lazing around in pyjamas, watching a good sports event on TV in a favourite recliner, might sound like an ideal Father's day to some. Following are five suggested movies if you wish to spend the day on the couch:

1. Finding Nemo
An animated classic, Finding Nemo is a story about a father clown fish who faces his deepest fears in order to re-unite with his son, who has been taken by a scuba diver. Life in the Coral Reef will never be the same with Marlin and Dory encountering adventure after adventure till they finally come to the realisation that a father son relationship cannot be sustained without the element of trust in it. An excellent bonding movie, especially fun to watch with young children.

2. Pursuit of Happyness
A heart-warming rags to riches journey of a father and son (real life father-son Will and Jaden Smith), during which they face the challenges that life throws at them. A movie that will make you cry and make you smile, it will leave you with a feeling of satisfaction that good parenting does not mean giving your child material things, but love, security and respect go a long way in nurturing the special father-son bond.

3. Three Men and a Baby
Three apartment-mates in New York City are faced with the biggest challenge ever when a baby literally walks into their life. The movie explores the havoc a tiny person can create in the lives of adults as the men learn how to look after the baby. Heart-warming and uplifting, it is easy to fall in love not only with the babies but with the three men who learn to make room for the baby in their life, but most importantly, in their hearts.

4. After Earth
Will and Jaden Smith, father and son in real life, play the father son characters in this futuristic action-adventure movie. Although the movie received mostly negative reviews, it portrays the way in which a father must trust his son to save their lives. Similarly, the son must trust his father to be his eyes as the father guides him through perilous obstacles to reach his desired destination.

5. The Family Man
A single wealthy and successful New Yorker finds himself in a New Jersey home, with a family and two children. With no choice but to deal with his new environment, he must get used to his new life and find it in him to become the family man that he is expected to be: a supporting husband and a loving father. The movie explores the challenges of modern families and what values are truly required to form a loving household.
