Located not far from Penneshaw Ferry Terminal on Kangaroo Island, the is a family run cafe that offers great coffee and a decent range of cafe-style foods. While it was fairly quiet when we visited, the owner informed us it can be busy during the peak tourist period for Kangaroo Island.

The Beagle Breakfast was much lighter than big breakfast dishes we have eaten at other Australian cafes. However, the bacon was fried to the degree that we liked and the scrambled eggs were light and fluffy. Served with the dish were toasted ciabatta bread and butter. Those that want a more filling dish can add extra ingredients such as mushrooms and baked beans for a bit of extra cost.

As its name suggests, the Eggs Benny Roll was the popular breakfast dish in the form of a sandwich. We liked that the ham had a smoky flavour and the fried eggs had lovely runny yolks. Topping the eggs was a homemade mayonnaise which did a good job of replicating the creamy taste of the usual hollandaise sauce.

The decor gave the cafe a cosy feel and the outdoor seating was ideal for those who decide to visit the cafe with their dogs. Its location makes it convenient for those arriving at or departing Kangaroo Island to grab a bite before setting off on their journey.
