This year's FAB festival is bursting at the seams
One of the best music festivals Australia has to offer happens right here under our noses in the form of Fat as Butter.
FAB is a 15 years and over event requiring proof of age on entry and tickets are available from $128.75 (General Admission) to $169.55 for 18 and over VIP tickets. If you are 15, you will need to present a passport or some other form of photo identification (see website for details).
Originally this year was going to see the availability of onsite camping for festival guests but the Council was a bit too late for the go ahead so the camping has been canned. Hopefully next year will see this addition.
But there is plenty of alternative accommodation available in Newcastle for the event and the line up this year makes it once again, a must do:
GYM CLASS HEROES [USA] BLISS N ESO MATT CORBY BOY & BEAR
PORTER ROBINSON [USA] DIGITALISM DJ SET [GER] BOOKA SHADE DJ SET [GER]
MICKEY AVALON [USA]
BOMBS AWAY [LIVE]
THE ASTON SHUFFLE DJs
COSMO JARVIS [UK]
GOLD FIELDS DJs
THE M – MACHINE [USA]
SUPER BEST FRIENDS
Fat as Butter takes place down on The Foreshore in town. No food or drink is allowed into the venue unless you have dietary restrictions and you need to register this beforehand via Mother Ship Events. There will be plenty of great stuff to buy there including Grill'd, the usual festival fare, organic goodies and decent coffee etc.
Newcastle has trains, buses and ferries that run with extra services running on the day. Please note too that inner city Newcastle has timed parking so to avoid a fine, you will need to either park and use public transport or park in a parking station. Event parking is available at Bolton St Carpark. See Hunter Parks for details.
