Taking the place of the Mawson Lakes branch of Caffé Primo, the Fasta Pasta restaurant at Mawson Lakes is the most recent branch of the chain to be opened in Adelaide. Most of their dishes can be ordered as an entrée or main sized dish. Complimentary bread and butter are provided to help sate your appetite while waiting for your main meal.
A new addition to the menu, their Spicy Sausage Pasta had Italian pork sausage that gave the dish a delectable smoky flavour, and chilli that imparted a delightful spicy taste. We also liked that the penne pasta was cooked al dente. The dish normally comes topped with mozzarella cheese and pecorino cheese but we chose to have them served separately so we can add as much or as little as we want to our pasta.

Though the Penne Peppino also included chilli, its taste was milder compared to the Spicy Sausage Pasta, which is great for those concerned about their tolerance to spicy foods. The chunks of braised chicken were tender and the Napoli sauce helped to bring out the flavour of the other ingredients.

Another dish that we enjoyed at the restaurant was their Lasagne Bolognese. The Bolognese sauce in this dish had a delightful savoury flavour and had enough beef mince to provide a meaty texture. The layers of lasagne were also of the same quality as the pasta in the other dishes that we tried. Helping to tie everything together was mozzarella cheese which did not overpower the flavours of the other ingredients.

Diners who visit the restaurant during lunchtime can enjoy a selection of lunch dishes which goes for only $8.90 each. The restaurant's location makes it great for those living around the area looking for affordable and delicious pasta dishes. It is also a handy place for students and staff at the university and schools in the area to have a meal.
