This week, the world's fashion media and biggest global retailers will descend upon Sydney for the highly anticipated Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Carriageworks in Sydney will be a flurry of celebrities and the who's who of Australian fashion, as they showcase the coming season's trends from haute couture all the way to summer resort wear. However, unlike previous events, this year will give the general public the opportunity to rub shoulders with Australia's fashion elite with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition.
The unique event will allow guests to experience the best of Fashion Week, with a series of exciting runway shows that feature the most popular collections from Fashion Week, as well as the latest awe-inspiring trends set to make an impact this coming summer. Australia's best and brightest designers will all be there, showcasing their most striking pieces for the public to peruse. Aspiring fashionistas will be able to delve into the unseen world of fashion design, mingle with models and witness the buzz of backstage. Guests will also be able to shop the stores and see runway shows in the making.
Saturday's runway shows will feature three Style Collective shows as well as two Resort Review shows. The Style Collective runway will feature the ultimate transeasonal wardrobe wish-list, ranging from striking statement pieces to overwhelmingly luxe fabrics and dazzling embellishments. Some of the designs set to feature as part of The Style Collective show will include Camilla and Marc, Christopher Esber, Macgraw and Michael Lo Sordo.
The Resort Review runway will feature the latest summer trends including swimwear, luxury sportswear and resort ready-to-wear collections. Some of the designs set to feature in the Resort Review show include alice McCALL, P.E Nation, CAMILLA, Hansen & Gretel and Double Rainbouu.
Trade secrets will also be on offer throughout the popular fashion hub, including the latest hair and makeup tips. The exclusive area will also give guests the opportunity to shop while enjoying food and cocktails. Industry Style Sessions will also be available in the hub from Toni & Guy, Napoleon Perdis & Grazia. It is an experience not to be missed.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition will also provide aspiring fashion photographers the chance to enhance their skills through a series of workshops, including street style and runway. Sigma has also come to the party, allowing workshop attendees to use their premium line of industry-leading ART lenses.
