In such a consumption driven and wasteful world that we live in, some of the best things we could reuse or repurpose are the very things that we wear. According to Aid For the Blind the average person throws out at least 30 kg's of clothes each year, when they could be donated to Op Shops and other worthy causes.

It's no secret that op shopping continues to be popular 'sport' for the thrifty among us and Aid for The Blind , a QLD not for profit organisation, are banking on our love for a bargain by showcasing some of their most exciting pre loved garments and giving these quality pieces a second life (and a second showing) in their Pre-Loved Fashion Extravaganza.

Held on Friday, August 29 from noon on on the centre stage in Queen Street Mall, all variety of clothing items sizes 8 - 16 will be 'paraded out' as well as - believe it or not - Bridal Wear.

Judging by the pictures Aid for the Blind have posted of their gowns they look like the real deal - so if you have impending nuptials - or even just have a fetish for wedding wear, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.

Weddings aside, there will also be a variety of quality retro wear - which is definitely the the 'in look' for the younger West End crowd. And if they're from the 70s and still around, there's a good chance these pre-loved goodies will serve you well for a couple more decades. After all, clothes made these days just aren't made like they were used to.

If hipster and bridal wear aren't really your thing and you bemoan having to spend a fortune on comfortable clothes for the office, the Fashion Extravaganza, will also showcase stylish corporate clothes. Think black slacks, pencil skirts, jackets, shirts and trousers. All items of which will be available throughout the Aid for the Blind's 6 Brisbane stores.

The event will be hosted by none other than renowned radio presenter, Paul 'Campo' Campion from 97.3FM who is sure to drum up excitement for the eclectic array of threads on show - and entertain crowds in the process with his witty repartee.

Since Aid for the Blind do such important work for the vision impaired throughout Queensland, if you're looking for something to do on Friday, August 29 in Brisbane - come along and purchase something and show your support.

When it comes to clothes - it pays to have options - and instead of paying top dollar for new options, get a taste for the pre-loved bargains that are out there and support a great cause in the process.
