Ever tried fighting your way through to get up close to the animals at the Royal Adelaide Show? Not usually a pleasant experience?

Well here's a great alternative for you. 2012 is the Australian Year of the Farmer and Urrbrae Agricultural High School is hosting the at its campus on Fullarton Rd, Netherby on August 25 from 10am to 5pm.

There will be opportunities to get up close to farm animals, take rides on a tractor, and lots of educational demonstrations and displays. Children considering a career in a farming/agriculture related field will find plenty to interest them with TAFE abd Technology Project displays.

For those with gourmet tastes, there will be Urrbrae Estate wine tasting, food and locally grown produce sales.

If you're interested in the environment, don't miss the opportunity to explore the Urrbrae Wetlands , and check out the demonstrations of water recycling, sustainable technologies and aquaculture.
