Our family recently experienced a wonderful afternoon helping out on a real working farm. We were greeted by friendly dogs as soon as the car drove up the
Farm Fun drive way and the kids quickly made friends with the dogs with plenty of pats and licks. Farmer Dave had prepared lots of "baby" bottles full of milk and it didn't take long for us to start feeding the greedy baby goats and gentle baby alpacas.
After that, it was time to feed some newborn lambs, and check the chickens for freshly laid eggs. Then some enormous milk bottles appeared and we all had to guess who they were for.
You guessed it - those huge bottles were for two little baby calves and they gulped their milk down super fast too. Next we patted newborn piglets, and a couple of muddy ducks, and then it was time to jump in the tractor for a ride over to the horse and sheep paddocks.
As Farmer Dave's tractor pulled up, the horses and sheep were waiting patiently for their hay and it was our job to scatter it all along the fence line. The kids loved feeling "useful" and it was great to be out in the fresh country air for the afternoon. At the end of our feeding duties, the kids played on the trampoline, pretended to drive the tractor and ran around on the grassy play area.
City kids will really enjoy an adventure to
Farm Fun and the whole family will enjoy the unique opportunity to cuddle and feed many different baby animals all at once.
Farm Fun would be an ideal birthday party venue and also holds an open day on the last Saturday of each month, which costs $10 per person.
Farm Fun also have a mobile animal van and are very happy to come and visit local community events.
