I was drawn yet again to a quirky sounding cafe that reminded me of a scientific theory. It's like this uniquely bohemian suburb of Melbourne has gotten a tad more scientific, now with Faraday's Cage standing within a kilometre from Pavlov's Duck !

We passed by this cafe late yesterday afternoon, when the weather had just started to get a bit chilly. Michael Faraday's theory seemed funnily apt, because we thought this cafe was the best to seek refuge from the cold than anywhere else! We stepped in for a quick coffee (flat white) & a soy latte, and were quite pleased.

This cool cafe popped up couple of weeks back, and is housed within a rustic brick walled warehouse that reminded me of a monastery. Now, the cafe is by no means a regular one. They pride themselves at baking their own artisan breads. The kitchen even prepares its own butter and jam.

I loved the ambience overlooking the baking area and the fact that one can enter the cafe from either Gore or Chapel Street.

The health wary and true aficionados of coffee will also love the palm sugar (close to jaggery in taste) alternative to regular brown sugar, served on table to add to the beverages. Personally I think it makes coffee taste better!

My mate bought a freshly baked loaf of multi-grain sourdough artisan bread . It was light, airy and moist.

Although there is no dearth of cafes in Fitzroy, a new one this good is a welcome add-on!
