When I saw Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World in a bookshop I knew I had to buy it for my little girl. Kate Pankhurst has written and illustrated a fantastic children's non-fiction picture book that is filled with fascinating facts about women who lived amazing lives and helped to change the world.

Kate Pankhurst is a British illustrator and author. Prior to publishing Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World, she was known for writing and illustrating children's fiction. Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World is her first non-fiction book.

Kate Pankhurst was inspired to write Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World after she discovered she was a distant descendant of British political activist and suffragette, Emmeline Pankhurst. Emmeline was responsible for helping to get the laws changed in Britain to give women the power to vote.

Inspired by her famous ancestor, Pankhurst embraced her "inner suffragette" when she put pen to paper and began work on writing and illustrating Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World.

Her book is chocked full of information about a whole host of inspiring ladies. The journey begins with Jane Austin then goes onto Gertrude Ederle, Frida Kahlo, Coco Chanel, Mary Anning, Marie Curie, Mary Seacole, Amelia Earhart, Sacagawea, Agent Fifi, Emeline Pankhurst, Rosa Park and then finishes with Anne Frank.

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World is a colourful book filled with delightful illustrations. Each page is devoted to one of each of the women and is designed to reflect the life that she led. Pankhurst uses text boxes to space information around the pages and colour to distinguish each of the women.

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World would be a good book for children aged 10 years and up. I recommend it for anyone searching for a book to give to their kid that features some truly awesome female role models.
