This exhibition is not your typical muggle affair, as it delves deep into the fascinating links between the creatures of the magical world and their counterparts in our natural world. Not to mention original artworks from Bloomsbury Publishing and some of the most iconic props from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film series.

But it's not all magic and wonder, as this exhibition also celebrates the real-world scientists who, like Newt Scamander, strive to understand and protect our planet's extraordinary creatures. Gondwana began to break up during the Jurassic period, and by the end of the Cretaceous period, it had completely fragmented into the continents we know today. The Gandel Gondwana Garden at Melbourne Museum is a botanical garden that showcases the prehistoric flora that once existed on this ancient supercontinent.
