Post-beach in the 42 degree heat, my sisters and I were desperate for water, food, but mostly the respite of air con. As we lazily strolled to Fanr - a large, airy space with a focus on fresh natural foods, we couldn't have been more relieved.

Fanr
After a quick order of drinks, and scan of the detailed menu, we plumped for a mix of salad, carbs, and comfort food.
The watermelon salad went down an absolute treat: paired with an uncomplicated salad of rocket, superbly salty and creamy feta and just enough sweet drizzle of balsamic, not out of this world, but just what we needed in our water-deprived states, a water-dense, cooling starter.

Hydration though
Oh and then there were the pizzas. They were simple, straightforward, well-made fine pizza, with a not-too-thick crust, and high quality ingredients, again, a simple, but delicious affair. I chose the veggie one, whilst my sister had the spiced chicken. The three of us devoured these with ease.

Cheese is protein
It was the surprise chickpea and potato cake dish my elder sister chose that we all loved, however. It was a cute little dish that was more contemporary Arabian fare compared to the otherwise typically-European menu. Lightly-fried potato 'cakes' sat atop a creamed chickpea amalgam with a blob of yogurt and pomegranate arils. It was surprisingly delicious.

Wholesome loveliness
Thanks to the high-ceilings and well-space out seating, Fanr is perfect for large groups of friends, or families, especially with kids, thanks to the outdoor play area, that won't feel claustrophobic or tucked away into a corner.
And it's great for the beached, parched, hungry trio of sisters or friends who are in dire need of watering and feeding, after, quite simply, too much sun.
