A tasty new spin on the classic high tea experience
Once you step into Adriano Zumbo's Fancy Nance, you'll immediately recognise that this isn't your grandma's high tea experience. That said, it's a perfectly acceptable place to take dear Gran for your next outing as it offers a quirky spin on the traditional High Tea experience that only Zumbo could do.

Made up of a cocktail bar, a dessert bar and 'Little Frankies', a bakery / gelati cafe, Fancy Nance is tucked away down Daly St in South Yarra running just alongside The Olsen hotel. With its vivid decor and welcoming atmosphere you'll find a huge range of sweets (and savouries too) as well as a broad range of high tea experiences for a decadent experience. Those seeking a gluten free or vegetarian option won't miss out either as there are menus catering to most dietary requirements.

The high tea experience offers your tea or coffee (or a glass of bubbles for a wee bit more) a first course of sweets, scones and jam and a course of savouries. You won't go home hungry. We tackled the signature 'I'm So Fancy' menu with a full 11 courses changing regularly with our first course consisting of a dish a little bit too pretty to eat. The lemon myrtle cheesecake with raspberries and macadamia pieces is light, crunchy and creamy.

With a few other sweet treats in the mix, you'll get to experience the very best of what Fancy Nance has to offer. Midway through (should've mentioned that it's vital to arrive famished) are the scones. Light and fluffy and served with jam and cream but as you might expect, you'll get both a sweet and savoury (ish) jam with a capsicum jam as an option. A great one at that!

Savouries follow with so much more than your typical cucumber sandwiches. Here chickpea crackers with basil pesto and tomato dust (pictured below) as well as prawn laksa balls and mac and cheese croquettes are served.

Fancy Nance is the ideal place to come along for a special occasion celebration, a girl's afternoon out or just simply a Treat Yourself sort of occasion. On weekend evenings the venue also features a DJ so it's a great little date night spot as well.
