It's always good to have a local cafe where you can meet with friends and family, knowing that you're going to have a great experience. This is the case with Famished on Frasers in Ashgrove.
To attest to its popularity, Famished now uses the premises next door, opening up the quaint rooms on very busy days (that would be most days) or for private functions. The service here was great - very friendly and welcoming. Our orders arrived in good time and the food didn't disappoint. Our coffees, chai lattes and teas were all spot on and we sat and watched the world go by from our table on the verandah.

The Healthy Breakfast is a great start to the day or if you prefer something light, try the Toasted Macadamia Muesli which comes with fruit, yoghurt and milk. From the new lunch menu the Turkey Breast Burger and Pork Shoulder Jaffle are hot favourites at the moment. All food is made on the premises by renowned chef, Jason Booth. Jason came to Famished from a fine dining restaurant in Falls Creek, Victoria. He uses fresh, quality ingredients and the majority of meals on the menu are available gluten free - just check with staff when ordering. The muffins here are a real treat and almost a meal in themselves! A new type of muffin is baked fresh daily and varieties include: raspberry and white chocolate, peanut butter choc chip cookie dough, strawberry and apple and salted caramel and popcorn.
Seating choices include inside or outside the main cafe area, in one of the rooms next door (if you prefer to sip in a quiet spot), or out on the verandah. If you're considering having breakfast or lunch at Famished on a weekend, it would be advisable to book as It is a popular weekend meeting place.
Children are welcome here, with a kids menu and their own brightly coloured table and chairs. If they have energy to burn after visiting Famished, there's a great park right next door. The family fur baby is welcome outside the cafe and on a lead (water bowls are provided for thirsty pooches). Parking is on-street which gets a little hectic in rush hour but otherwise is fine.
