A walk with something for everyone
Saturday morning was drizzly with the sun peaking through periodically, but it was warm and a perfect day to be out walking with your family, or on your own for that matter. Saturday morning is also the day Davies Park in West End comes to life with one of Brisbane's most popular weekend markets. Two pluses for getting out to enjoy the great outdoors.

Parking around the markets can be difficult so to avoid the Davies Park area head to Orleigh Park or Ferry Road. The walk along the river is delightful, both for the river views and the friendly walkers, many with their dogs, and water sport participants in canoes, jet boats and kayaks.

If you have younger children the Hill End Playground is a fantastic starting and finishing point, then, as you walk through Orleigh Park, look across the river to the beautiful, contrasting historic buildings in Toowong - from the late 1800's to 1970's.

One option is to walk as far as Davies Park or you can continue along Riverside Drive to the Go Between Bridge, approximately 35 minutes. The walk from Orleigh Park to Davies Park is 20 minutes. I highly recommend stopping off at the Gypsy Coffee Wagon at The Davies Park Markets for an organic coffee, tea or chocolate.

We are truly blessed in Brisbane with perfect Winter weather and excellent walkways, so why not take your walking shoes somewhere different this weekend?
