Family Photo Shoot

Most of us love to capture moments with photographs and celebrate occasions through them. Be it a wedding, birth of a new one or just any special event, celebrating it with a photo shoot could be a great idea.

Once you have decided to go ahead with a photo shoot, it is important to decide what the nature of the photo shoot should be. Whether it should be casual, formal, for a family or individual and whether it should be indoor or outdoor.

Indoor photo shoots can be more personal and creative. Outdoor photo shoots are more casual and sometimes prone to weather conditions. But outdoor shoots offer a variety in backgrounds and iconic locations. In Sydney there are plenty of parks and waterfronts to choose from.

There are many photo studios in Sydney that bundle up a make-up session and a photo shoot. For example Starshots Glamour Photography is a popular studio that offers make-up, a 1 hour session with a professional photographer and printed portraits of the photographs taken. They have special sessions and offers for individual, couple, family or even pregnancy shoots. Currently they are running some great offers on photo sessions.

Another popular studio is You Studios. Their professional stylist consultation will help you choose the right outfits for the session. They generally encourage the customer to bring 3 outfit changes so that they get a good variety of photographs. Do check out what offers they have running at their website.

If you choose to do an outdoor photo shoot, you can hire an independent photographer and choose a location that suits the theme. Cloudy days are preferred days for photo shoots as there are no shadows! Parks and waterfronts are great locations for a family or a couples shoot. If the theme of the shoot is adventurous, a national park could also be a good choice.

Rocky beaches also look good for a family shoot. It's good to select outfits that match the theme, location and also match the other members of the photo shoot. Blue and white go very well with an outdoor theme especially if it is a park or a beach. Black is also a good idea. Some of the advice that professional photographers always give is not to wear large prints or t-shirts with brand names on it in large font. It is also a good idea to take some props along for photo sessions. Or if it a family photo shoot, take the dog along.
