Following last year's very successful Open Cockpit Day, the Australian National Aviation Museum are once opening their hangar doors, this time for an entire weekend, giving everyone ample opportunity to take a look around, climb about the planes and enjoy the activities and displays.

Whether they are on the ground or in flight, aeroplanes are one of those magnificent creations that never fail to amaze, captivate and thrill us. Usually you need to buy a ticket to enjoy the inside of a plane, and then it's all business. Board, sit down and get off as efficiently as you can. And most of us never have an opportunity to see, let alone sit, inside the cockpit. That's why the is so special. Take your time to really look around, wonder and enjoy the craftsmanship and innovation of aeroplanes up close - inside and out. Fun for people of all ages, the is something you'll talk about for ages.[BREAK] The day includes access to many of the planes as well as engine runs, special displays, a jumping castle, raffles, food trucks and coffee. So prepare to make an entire day of your visit.

The is being held on the weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October 2017, from 9am to 4pm each day.[BREAK] Ticket prices for single day entry are $5 for kids aged 5 to 16 years, $7 concession, $10 for adults over 16 years and a family (2 adults, 2 children) $20. A 2-day weekend pass is also available.
