Did you know that National Family History Month is held in Australia every August? Or that Family History and genealogy is one of the most popular hobbies around the world? There are over 250,000 Australians who are members of family history related organisations. Libraries, archives and other organisations, such as the Genealogical Society of Queensland (GSQ) participate in National Family History Month.
Brisbane's first female Lord Mayor, Sallyanne Atkinson AO, will be the special guest at the GSQ's inaugural Family History Fair and Open Day on Saturday 5 August. This is a must-attend event for all you budding (or experienced) family historians and is part of National Family History Month offering visitors access to GSQ's vast range of resources – all for free.
